It's a girl!

Sometime around October I got quite busy, and quite behind on blogging a few things.
It was also the month that I photographed Heather's baby shower. Her baby girl has arrived since, but I'm just now getting around to sharing some of the photos. I absolutely adored all the details! The color sheme and theme came together perfectly and the whole day was just beautiful.

Coffee, tea, and a baby shower

A couple weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing a baby shower. I just love shooting events. I love the details, the emotion, and capturing moments as they happen. This surprise shower was no exception.

My good friend Adrianna (Ms. Martha Stewart Jr.) did a fabulous job with the details, I was totally impressed and inspired.

The mama-to-be, Shivon, was completely surprised when she arrived - especially to see one of her best friends from out of state. Not what she was expecting at all, I loved it!

Very cool vintage Christmas cards. Each guest created a handmade card for each of the baby's birthdays, I thought this was such a great idea.

Memories, dreams, and reflections

It's a new year and I'm ready to get back on track with Scavenger Hunt Sunday. Somewhere in the last couple months I got super busy and even though I wanted to keep up with the weekly challenges, it just didn't happen. This is the perfect time to start back up and reflect on the past year.

I've come a long way since this time last year, I finally started shooting in manual consistently (no more auto!), started taking MANY more photos, started practicing on family and friends, and decided to give the pro thing a shot and start working on building a portfolio up. I've never really thought I could do this, but I need to (and want to) give it my best shot and see what happens. You only live once, might as well follow what you love and have a passion for, right?

Happy Birthday Baby!

I seem to have the most trouble taking photos of my own kid, what the heck?!? He just turned 2 and we attempted his 2 year photo shoot. It was FREEZING cold so we didn't last long and he wasn't cooperative whatsoever. I may try some more another time, but here are a few decent shots that I got.
