Just because

I was messing around last night and practicing some things with metering. I've been wanting to try some sunset/cloud shots and this is what I got.

Oh yes they truly are.I'm pretty sure my little one will be joining them in their mischievous acts any day now, that is if he hasn't already...
Two of my favorite little boys have birthdays this summer and I got to take their pictures this year. I cannot believe they are 5 and 7 now, makes me feel so old! Love you both - xoxo!!

Edit #1 - Cropped, adjusted levels (pulled up blacks and midtones).
Adjusted color of grass by upping blue tones in hue/saturation of yellows and lowering magentas through selective color adjustment of yellows.
Adjusted the skin tone of the girl in pink, added just a bit more magenta.


Edit #2 - Just ran a fun action.

Cake Smash!

Miss A is turning 1 in just a couple of weeks. Her mom and I had been planning on doing a cake smash shoot for a while and I was very excited that the time had finally come. She was an absolute doll! Her cute tutu makes me look forward to (hopefully) someday having a girl.
She wasn't too into the cake, but she seemed to like the few tastes she got. Enjoy E ~xoxo!

Edit 1:

I lightened up her face and body by selecting, creating a new layer via copy, and adjusting curves and levels some. After that I added a bit more contrast, inceased saturation and cropped.

Edit 2:

From the first edit, just ran a couple actions (TRA Rusty Cage, and PW Soft and Faded) and adjusted the opacity.

This post has been in the works for quite some time, I'm really not sure what took me so long to finish it.

Last month my friend got married and I was more than happy to oblige when she asked if I would come and take some photos of her and the girls getting ready. She ran it by her photographer and he even said it was fine with him if I hung around for the rest of the day to get some practice!

I know these are far from perfect, but it was great practice (as I say often it seems!) and alot of fun to be a part of the day. It was a beautiful wedding - you would never guess they planned it in just a few months!

Whoo-hoo! I've been wanting to participate in Fix-it-Friday on iheartfaces for a while now, but I'm always at work. Grr.

Ok, here's the original:

My first edit (using PS CS5). I can't remember the exact steps. I pulled up on the curves, warmed it up, adjusted hue'saturation, added more conrast, and cropped.

Yesterday I met up with Irma and Ben for a shoot at the Botanical Gardens at UCR. I hadn't been over that way in ages (since I was a student there probably!). It is such a fun place to explore with so many pretty spots. Enjoy, and happy anniversary! Oh and I just love Miss R, she makes me smile :)
